University College Boat Club Lunch
Saturday, 3 June 2023. 12.30-3pm
Leander Club, Henley-on-Thames
Friends of UCBC are warmly invited to attend an informal lunch at Leander Club, Henley-on-Thames, for all former members of the Univ Boat Club on Saturday, 3 June 2023. Spouses, partners and friends are very welcome. This event is being organised by Ron Jordan (1963) and Richard Powles (1964).
Some of you may have attended one of the previous lunches that have been held at Leander and which have proved to be very popular. This is a great opportunity to meet up with old rowing pals and to make new friends who share the joy of having rowed in a Univ boat on the Isis. So do encourage all those in your old crew(s) to come along to join the generations of Univ rowers who have responded to the call “Gather for ten!”.
We will again be inviting current members of the Univ Boat Club to join as the guests of those attending the lunch. The Old Members present will therefore be paying for the lunch of the current members as well as their own, and this is reflected in the price below. The lunch will be just one week after the Saturday of Eights Week, and we shall be able to hear all about the Club’s latest progress on the River, and, hopefully, celebrate the Ladies’ defence of their glorious Headship.
Price
The cost for the three course lunch is £75 per person to include a pre- lunch drink and wine with the meal. This also includes a contribution to the costs of the current members.

Dress Code
For your guidance the dress code at Leander is defined as “smart casual”. Gentlemen are invited to wear a jacket and tie (blazers, particularly College blazers are ideal). Smart jeans are acceptable but not sports-wear or trainers please. Trousers for ladies are absolutely fine.
We do hope you will be able to join us.
