Judo Varsity win

Man smiling broadly in judo uniform while holding a trophyJorin Riexinger (2020, DPhil Biology) is a member of Oxford University Judo Club’s Men’s Blues team who won the Judo Varsity Match on Sunday 5 March.

Jorin is also a member of OUSSC (Oxford University Ski and Snowboard Club) and was part of the Men’s Blues team that won the Varsity Centenary in December last year. He came third overall, third in slalom, and third in GS.

Jorin received a BSc in Biomimetics from Westphalian University in 2017. Then, he graduated with an MSc in Neuroscience from the University of Freiburg in 2020, focusing on computational neuroscience and neurotechnology. His dissertation involved both the experimental investigation of neurotoxicity in brain organoids composed of dopaminergic neurons and the development of a data mining approach for neurotoxic risk assessment at Johns Hopkins University. Jorin joined the Bayley group in 2020 for his DPhil. His research focuses on the development of synthetic tissue-like structures that interact with a range of cell types.
