BUCS Premier South Championship winners

Women's fencing team have a group huddleCaptained by Bronwen Hyde (2021, Jurisprudence), Oxford University Fencing Club’s women’s team won the BUCS Premier South Championship 2022/23 in February.

The team’s first match took place in Oxford in early November against Bath, winning 126-87. Oxford hosted the first two-day tournament later in November, competing against Bristol, UCL, Imperial and Cambridge. The team won every single team match, including all weapons. Following this success, the Women’s Blues travelled to Bath to fence them again. Some team members fenced more than one weapon, but they still beat Bath for the second time. On 28 January, the team fenced their last two team matches against Imperial and Cambridge. Once again, the team won every single match.

Bron wrote an article recently for Oxford University Sport, giving a detailed report on the season so far.
