JCR welcome letter

Profile Dag YosiefWelcome to Oxford and welcome to Univ!

We look forward to meeting you all, even if it is amidst an unusual backdrop of masks and social distancing! Many of you will have experienced an erratic year so far, you may have had your school year abruptly cut short or gap year plans derailed. In any case, I am pleased that you will have the chance to come to Oxford and to experience what will hopefully be a memorable start to an amazing time here.

The JCR Committee and I are here to help you get the most out of your time at Univ, we will be available for Welcome Week and beyond. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do reach out to us!

In order to ensure that you are up to date with changes to JCR-led events, I would strongly suggest joining the Univ JCR page, I would also suggest downloading Zoom and Microsoft Teams, as these will be used for various socials and JCR meetings throughout Welcome Week and beyond.

I would also recommend keeping an eye on the Univ intranet and the University’s Coronavirus Information page, as these sites contain useful information regarding the College’s response to the pandemic and can also give you an idea of what life will look like during the term. The College and the JCR have been working hard to make sure that we can help you get the most out of your academic and social life at College, in the safest way possible. I know many of you may have concerns, having seen the situations unravelling at other universities. I can assure you that everyone here has been totally committed to making our return to Oxford a success.

I wish you well as you embark on what I hope will be a memorable first year at Univ and I look forward to having the chance to meet you all!

With best wishes,

Dagmawi
