Univ Futures – Issue 2
Univ Futures is our annual magazine for donors, which illustrates the impact that philanthropy has had on the College.
Issue 2 looks at some of the many ways your gifts enable the Univ community to continue to thrive, from the University College North Oxford development to the Cawkwell Teaching Fund. Professor Polly Jones, Schrecker–Barbour Fellow in Slavonic and East-European Studies and Professor of Russian, marks a decade since she took up the Schrecker–Barbour Fellowship. We also hear from a recipient of the David and Lois Sykes Travel Scholarship, Sahil Shah (2018, Oriental Studies) who travelled to China in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Another feature focuses on four recipients of the Robin J C Mallinson Bursary, which supports athletes at Univ. We also cover the Edward Orsborn Professorship, held by Professor Adam Smith, and the Oxford-Berman Graduate Scholarship, which supports physicists at Univ. Dr Stephen Golding, Emeritus Fellow and Chalet Trustee, reports on the restoration of the Chalet.
