On Sunday, 12 June UCBC generously organised a rowing taster day for all students, staff and their families to give everyone a taste of what goes on at the club (but without the early mornings and strenuous commitment to fitness.)

In addition to the chance to take boats out – sensibly 50% crewed by experienced rowers – a BBQ, children’s activities, face painting and a timed erg challenge were also provided. Our enormous thanks to Hannah Farley (2012, DPhil Medicine), president of the college boat club for the 2021-22 season, and all those who so kindly gave their time and expertise to make this such an entertaining afternoon of fun on the river.

“Fresh off the success of Summer Eights, it was great fun to welcome over 50 students, staff members and their families down to the boat house to show them just what all the fuss is about. With 10 boats on the water throughout the afternoon, Univ was out in force and thankfully so was the sunshine!
