Aspire charity walk

On the 14 and 15 of September three University friends will be walking the 54 miles from the source of the Thames to Oxford to raise funds for Aspire, one of Univ’s partner charities, who focus on both homelessness prevention and homeless relief.

The challenge is intended not only to raise much-needed funds, but to highlight the 10 miles homeless people must walk on average every day. Once in Oxford the three friends will travel around the city with Turl Street Homeless Action distributing meals and hot drinks.

One of those organising the walk is Hannah Morris of Exeter College who says, “Homelessness in Oxford has increased by 400% since 2012… Everybody deserves a home, and your help is needed.”

The two-day initiative is the start of a continuing campaign to raise money for Aspire and other homelessness charities throughout next year.

You can sponsor the source-to-Oxford walk at Walk Out to Help Out.
