The College deeply regrets to report that Bob Maskell, Head Porter from 2006-2018, died on Tuesday 16 April, aged 68.

Bob was a very popular figure in College and will be much missed. When he retired in 2018, the “University College Record” included a tribute from him from Sir Ivor Crewe, our then Master. You can find it on pages 22-23 here.

Bob’s funeral will be held at North Oxford Crematorium (Tackley) on Friday 10 May at 2pm. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Sobell House Hospice Charity c/o Edward Carter Funeral Directors, 107 South Avenue, Abingdon, OX14 1QS.
