Debut folk album launch

Man playing fiddleJoshua Newman, Undergraduate Admissions and Access Manager, is releasing his debut album. Titled From the Floor, the album launch is on 10 November at Oxford Folk Club.

After growing up around folk clubs and the English tradition on the East Kent coast Joshua spent his teenage years studying classical violin, viola, and voice at Junior Guildhall and Chetham’s School of Music. Having found his way back to traditional music Joshua splits his time between Irish and English playing and, via spells living in Dublin, has studied the respective traditions with Kevin Glackin and Sam Sweeney.

As well as performing as a solo artist, Joshua plays fiddle, viola, and sings in Moonaroon and The Oakstone Trio.
