The Oxford City Council Recycling team has won £80,000 to introduce on-street coffee cup recycling bins in Oxford. Now they’re going one step further and, together with Oxford City Council’s Culture Team, they’re making these bins about more than just recycling…

Oxfordshire residents (that includes you, Univ students) of all ages and abilities are being asked to come up with a positive, original design that inspires people to take action to address the climate emergency. This can include a picture, poem, message or other visual inspiration.

The design should encourage people to reflect on the impact they have on the planet. The most thought-provoking designs will be printed onto 40 cup-shaped recycling bins to be installed in Headington, Summertown and the city centre.

Submission deadline 6 January 2020.
