Aspire Christmas Appeal 2018

Aspire Christmas AppealChristmas is just around the corner. Whilst it is a time of celebration for many, it can be one of the most difficult times of year for homeless people, especially when the temperatures start plummeting.

Aspire have been supporting homeless people into employment for 17 years. Their clients also include people at risk of homelessness, those living in poverty and refugees. They are one of Univ’s partner charities, whose activities have a direct impact on the College and which, in turn, the College seeks to nurture and promote as well as support financially.

You can donate online to their appeal: £18 could provide a hot drink and first employment support session for a rough sleeper, £36 could pay for basic kitchen goods for a new home, and £65 could pay for construction training for a formerly homeless person

Alternatively, if you would like to buy a Christmas gift for one of Aspire’s clients, here is a handy checklist.
1. Choose a gift £5 or under (e.g. biscuits, chocolates, toiletries or gloves, but no alcohol).
2. Wrap the gift and label if it is for a man, woman or child.
3. Drop the gift off at Aspire’s main offices by 14th December.

Aspire is proud to be part of the solution to our community’s growing homeless crisis. To find out more and get involved with our life-changing work, please call Helen on 01865 204450 or email helen@aspireoxford.co.uk
