A Table for Friends

A Table for FriendsSkye McAlpine (2003, Classics), author of A Table in Venice and a columnist for The Sunday Times, recently released a new cookbook, A Table for Friends. Based on her experience entertaining friends, family and assorted guests, her new book provides recipes suitable for all occasions.

Skye’s first book, A Table in Venice, explored Venetian food from recipes translated from old Venetian cookbooks to modern interpretations of dishes using iconic Venetian ingredients and flavours. In July, Skye also revealed her tableware collaboration with Anthropologie.

A Table for Friends is split into four useful chapters (Stars, Sides, Sweets and Extras) with plenty of recipes perfect for a post-lockdown socially distanced picnic. The chapters are sectioned into “Throw Together”, “On the Hob” and “In the Oven”, so you know where to look if you don’t have much time or there’s a heatwave.

We interviewed Skye in the Spring 2019 issue of The Martlet, pp. 24-25. A Table for Friends is available on Amazon or Blackwell’s.
