University College,
North Oxford

Our development in North Oxford represents the most significant expansion of the College’s footprint since the 18th century.

Working together we can deliver an exceptional model of environmentally responsible planning and construction that will result in a second fully-fledged collegiate community.

As ever, Univ is proud to be pushing the boundaries of what is thought possible for an Oxford college. We need your help to make this happen – please join us on this journey…

“It is creating a social world, which is an extraordinarily enjoyable task for an architect: to project this into the future and think about how people will be living.”

Níall McLaughlin, Architect

A message from
Sir Ivor Crewe

“We are embarking on a transformational project – the greatest expansion of the College since the construction of the Main Quad in the 17th century and the creation of a new way of college living adapted for the 21st century. It is the critical next chapter in Univ’s history. Now, as before, we turn to the College’s tradition of generous benefactions to realise our ambitions.”

Sir Ivor Crewe

A message from
Baroness Amos

“This project speaks to three of Univ’s core strengths-continuity, community and change. It looks forward in a way which builds on Univ’s history whilst seeking to transform its future. I am delighted to support it and hope that you will too.”

Baroness Amos

“We can just focus on our studies safe in the knowledge that we’ll be looked after by College, and knowing that we can just go to College with any concerns we have about accommodation. I’m really grateful for that.”

Lucy Walsh (2018, History and Politics)

“I am glad to lend my support to this project. The University’s centre of gravity is moving towards North Oxford and it is right and necessary that Univ should have a strong presence there.”

Lord Butler, Master 1998-2008

Recognition

A project such as this will not be undertaken by the College again in our lifetime, and this is a unique opportunity to commemorate a family member or a member of the College, or to acknowledge one’s own contribution to this historic project. This is a once in 300 year opportunity – an opportunity to make your make in history. This will be Univ by Univ.

A venture of such size and scope offers myriad possibilities for naming and recognition. These options can be found below and we would be delighted to answer any questions you might have.
