Summer Eights livestream

This year’s traditional Summer Eights has been moved from 5th to 7th week with a number of small changes to the event format, most notably running under the “Torpids” rules. This will help the organisers to mitigate potential issues caused by both COVID-19 and the related lack of training time for crews.

However, the key change for supporters is that the organisers, Oxford University Rowing Clubs, are discouraging any spectator attendance to avoid crowds. Access to the boathouse island will be controlled and limited to competitors only, and towpath gatherings will be strongly discouraged with a combination of clear signage, security stewards and support from the local authorities.

College strongly encourages full compliance with this and instead asks our extended Univ family to cheer on the teams via the livestream at oxfordbumpsracing.com

The full event runs from Tuesday 8 June to Friday 11 June, daily from approximately noon – 7pm.

Filming and broadcasting is courtesy of Oxfordshire based event production and livestreaming specialist, First Sight Media who will be providing an extremely high quality experience for viewers using multiple fixed cameras and a drone.
