Captain John Shinkwin with the trophy

On 2 October 2026, Univ’s alumni golf team won the 2026 Hennessy Cup at Studley Wood Golf Club.

Teams of eight enjoyed a beautiful day of golf on this picturesque and challenging golf course with the best five scores from each team counting. Univ’s best five scores were Tim Low, who scored an impressive 38 points and was 2nd overall in the individual tournament, Mike Shilling, Tony Leak, John Shinkwin, who also won the longest drive competition and Alan Bentall.

On Wednesday 14 April 2027, this competition will return to Frilford Golf Club in its traditional format including current members of colleges. We encourage male and female Univ golfers to make themselves available so that we can mount a stout defence of our title!
