The USPGA (Univ Society Peripatetic Golf Association) Spring Meeting took place at Studley Wood Golf Club, Oxfordshire on 19 May 2025.

On a fine sunny day Univ’s golfers set forth to tackle the proliferation of water hazards and fast greens at Studley Wood. There were some fine birdies and some not so fine treble bogeys along the way. The popular score seemed to be 25 points.

The value for money prize was won by Tony Leak just one short of the 25s favoured by many golfers.

Unusually all the prizes were won by the first group—Longest drive went to John Hyde and nearest the pin went to Allan Kerr.

Third was Anthony Young with the coveted first position being shared on 35 points by Allan Kerr and John Hyde. After some vigorous arm wrestling and a countback, the first prize went embarrassingly to the host for the day John Hyde.

The cup was presented later by the barman!
