USPGA autumn meeting
On Tuesday 29 October the USPGA held its autumn meeting at Huntercombe golf club, one of the finest inland courses and currently ranked 56 in England with Golf World. Huntercombe was the only course owned by Willie Park Jnr and, unencumbered by the demands of others, he packed the course with unique design features that provide a memorable test of golf.
Chris Morgan (1975, English) welcomed Univ golfers on the day and comments: “We were blessed with tolerable weather and were lucky to avoid the deluges of the last few days. 19 Old Members joined battle, many succumbing to the fast and difficult greens for which the course is known.
“Our winner was the youngest member to attend, Guy Broadfield, who came in with a very creditable score of 35 stableford points.”
