Open Days July 2025

Univ’s student ambassadors with School’s Liaison and Access Officer, Savannah Phillips
Savannah Phillips, Univ’s Schools Liaison and Access Officer at Univ, reports on the College’s recent Open Days.
On 2 and 3 July, University College took part in the big summer Oxford Open Days. Staff in particular were grateful for Oxford experiencing a cooler spell in between heatwaves on the day, making work a lot more manageable. The College once again experienced good attendance at our demonstration interview sessions, the purpose of which was to help applicants feel more confident about the interview aspect of applying to Oxford.
New for this year, we trialled a talk on “Careers after Oxford”, to show prospective applicants that they can do well in their careers after graduating, no matter their subject choice. We also trialled a designated Quiet Room, for prospective applicants and supporters who might need a minute to decompress in what are very vibrant and busy days.
We would like to thank all the members of staff who helped make the day such a success. Open Days really are a team effort involving every single division of the College and it’s a testament to the great relationships and teamwork between staff and students that we are able to pull them off so successfully. Thank you all, and we look forward to doing it all again on 19 September 2025.
