Memoona’s skydive
After finishing her degree, Memoona Ahmed (2018, Experimental Psychology) embarked on an internship at TIC+, a youth counselling service in her local area. TIC+ provide essential support to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing struggles, and were integral to supporting her during her time at secondary school.
As Memoona’s career goal is to work as a child and adolescent clinical psychologist, she has hugely enjoyed and appreciated helping this summer to develop the service and working with immensely experienced clinical staff and feels very lucky to be continuing with TIC+ as a part-time assistant psychologist this year alongside my new role in the NHS.
To give back to how the service has supported her personally and to contribute to the fantastic and crucial work TIC+ is doing in Gloucestershire, Memoona decided to do a sponsored skydive!
She commented, “I previously did a charity skydive for Together for Short Lives when I was 16, and enjoyed the experience so much that I could not be more excited to do it again! At the end of October, I will be jumping out of a plane and would appreciate the Univ family’s support for this brilliant cause! My goal is to raise £1000 – you can donate at TIC+ (Teens In Crisis): Memoona’s Sponsored Skydive.”
