Duke of Cambridge scholar

Univ Duke of Cambridge scholarStephanie Ifayemi (2018, MPP) was the subject of a recent profile on the Blavatnik School of Government’s website. She is only the second recipient of the Blavatnik School’s Duke of Cambridge scholarship.

The Duke of Cambridge Scholarship is given annually to a student who has received an offer from the Blavatnik School to study MPP (Master of Public Policy). The scholarships are funded by the Dulverton Trust, an independent, charitable organisation established in 1949.

Stephanie was inspired to apply to the MPP course following work in the German foreign office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where she was helping to advise the African Union Commission on a higher education project. She has also previously done internships with a human rights law firm in Haiti and with a thinktank in Tanzania.

Stephanie commented in the piece: “I was overjoyed to receive the scholarship. At a critical political-economic period for the UK and the global sustainable development agenda, it’s a privilege to be able to undertake the MPP as a Duke of Cambridge scholar.”

She has also received further funding from Univ, which has enabled her to start learning Mandarin and attend the 2019 Global Solutions Summit, a pre-G20 meeting in Berlin, Germany.
