Meet our June 2026 Telethon callers

We are delighted to introduce our team of brilliant Univ students who will be reaching out to our Old Members and friends of Univ this June in our Telethon.

Each year, Univ recruits a number of enthusiastic student callers to reach out to our Old Members during the Telethon. The calling sessions, which will take place between 22 June and 6 July 2026, provide an opportunity for students to speak to Old Members and friends of Univ about current College life as well as changes and improvements taking place.

This year, our student callers are looking forward to speaking to members of the College community to hear about their previous experiences of Univ and share their own. Our team of eleven callers come from a variety of disciplines including Music, History, Law, Engineering and Classics.

You can read profiles of our 2026 Telethon callers below.

Naima AdenNaima Aden

Hi! My name is Naima and I am a second-year Philosophy, Politics, and Economics student at Univ. Outside of my degree, I love to write (currently for The Isis Magazine and the Cherwell) and get involved with the plethora of cultural and religious societies in Oxford. I spend my free time in Oxford going on long walks, reading, and catching up with friends. I’m so excited to be taking part in the Telethon this year because I’ll be giving back to the College for the many opportunities I’ve received as a member. From the opportunity to travel Europe, to subsidised language classes, I’m excited to get in touch with alumni and work together to improve Univ’s student support!

Dara AduDara Adu

Hi, I’m Dara and I’m a second-year Law with Spanish Law student from London. I chose to study Law with a language because I love learning about other cultures and travelling to new places. I have spent the majority of this term preparing for my year abroad in Barcelona, which I am so excited to be starting this September! However, I know I will be absolutely devastated to leave Univ, so I’m looking forward to staying an extra two weeks in College to work with the Telethon team. Outside of my degree, I am our College Entz Rep, which means I’m in charge of organising all the fun social activities that go on in the JCR. I’m also heavily involved in Oxford’s student journalism scene – I spend most of my free time writing and I am currently Editor-in-Chief of Industry, a student-run visual arts and culture magazine.

Isabel BentleyIsabel Bentley

Hi, I’m Isabel! I’m a first-year English student here at University College. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first year, and College has given me so many opportunities, such as playing for the College netball team, rowing, and I recently learnt to play croquet in the Fellows’ Garden! When I’m not studying in the library, I’m either writing poetry or going along to some of the university’s various dance classes. My course has been a lot of fun, and I’ve been particularly engaged with the study of Old English – something I never imagined I’d find so interesting. I’m excited to take part in the Telethon to get the opportunity to speak with Univ alumni and find out what their experience at College was like. I’d really like to help raise funds for the College so that they can continue to provide such incredible opportunities for all of their students.

Bethel BenyamBethel Benyam

I’m Bethel, a second-year PPE student at Univ with a particular interest in analytic philosophy and quantitative economics, both of which I’m studying this year. I’m especially looking forward to taking part in the Telethon because alumni support plays such an important role in sustaining the Univ community long after people leave Oxford. I’m excited by the chance to speak directly with Old Members and hear about the fascinating paths people have taken from our shared starting point at Univ. Outside academics, I’m currently President of the Univ Ball Committee, which has kept me very busy planning this year’s ball. The generosity and encouragement of alumni have been invaluable throughout the process, so I’m grateful for the opportunity to thank people personally. As someone who has also benefited from bursaries and travel grants funded by Old Members, I’m keen to give back to the community that has supported me.

William GreenWilliam Green

I’m William, a first-year engineer. I’m very excited to be a caller for the Telethon. I really enjoy being able to speak to new people each with a vastly different expertise and getting to hear about them. I really enjoy being at Univ. I love being right in the centre of Oxford and being within walking distance to so many great places in Oxford. My favourite bit of engineering is motorsport engineering. I find the level of precision incredible and the merging of so many engineering disciplines. I am a member of the formula student team for the university, in which I get to work with other students to help design and build a race car.

Rose JoslinRose Joslin

Hi! My name is Rose and I am a second-year PPEist from Manchester. While Philosophy and Economics serve as interesting additions to my degree, my main interest lies in politics! Some of my favourite modules I’ve taken so far have been political sociology, exploring voting behaviour, and Modern British Government and Politics, which gives fascinating context to the current political climate here in the UK. I am currently JCR VP/Secretary, so am super familiar with the ins and outs of College, and spend most of my life reading in Old Library in Univ. When I’m not around College or working, I love eating my way through Oxford, with my favourite stop being Gloucester Green Market.

Daniel Jurado-HoshinoDaniel Jurado-Hoshino

I’m a second-year Music student at Univ, and much of my time is split between performing, studying, and keeping active. I play the cello in the Oxford University Orchestra, which has been one of the highlights of my time at Oxford so far, there’s something very special about being part of such a large group of musicians. Outside music, I’m also very involved in sport, particularly football and boxing, which give me a completely different kind of energy and focus. I’m really looking forward to the Telethon because it feels like a great opportunity to connect with people, hear stories, and contribute to something meaningful. I enjoy speaking to new people, and I’m excited to be part of an event that brings the wider community together at Univ.

Robert MylneRobert Mylne

Hello! My name is Robert Mylne and I’m a second-year undergraduate reading History. I am looking forward to virtually meeting lots of our Old Members and finding out about their time at Univ. For the last year, I have served as JCR President, so I feel I know the College quite well by now, and I look forward to sharing what it’s like! Alongside my studies, I cox for UCBC and am a keen member of Univ FC. Trinity Term is always an exciting one in Oxford, and I’m sure things like Summer VIIIs, college balls, and the sunny weather will bring back great memories for our alumni.

Joshua NgJoshua Ng

Hello! My name is Josh and I’m first-year French and Russian student here at Univ. I feel so privileged to be a part of this lovely community, where I’ve had the opportunities to engage with so many amazing events and societies. I’ve been particularly involved in rowing, which has been incredibly beneficial to both my physical and mental health and allowed me to meet some lifelong friends (sitting in a freezing boat in the rain together makes an unbreakable bond). I’m so excited to be a part of this year’s Telethon because I hope to continue to allow Univ and its societies to have the funding they deserve to make students’ experiences here as unforgettable as mine!

Millie WaiteMillie Waite

I am extremely excited to be taking part in this year’s Telethon as I really want to get to know the Old Members of Univ and hear about their time at College. I am interested in learning more about College history and how others have enjoyed their time here, as well as how College has changed over time. I am a second-year classicist and I spend most of my time outside of my work of running, reading, going to cafes, and doing crafts, although my main love is Univ brunch! I have recently completed the Bidwells Town and Gown 10k race as part of Team Univ, which I enjoyed immensely.

Lara WorthyLara Worthy

Hi, I’m Lara! I’m a first-year classicist and choral scholar. I’m so excited to be a caller on this year’s Univ Telethon! My favourite part of my first year at Oxford has been taking part in all of the traditions associated with the university, from matriculating to witnessing the May Day celebrations! My favourite part about College life is how friendly everybody is and how welcome the College has made me feel. I’m looking forward to speaking with a wide range of Univ Old Members in order to learn about their respective experiences of Univ life, as well as what they have gone on to do afterwards.
