George Webb Medley Prize awarded to Univ MPhil Economist
Martin Brogaard (2023, Economics) has been awarded the George Webb Medley Prize 2024/2025 for the Best Overall Performance in Written Exams across the two years in the MPhil in Economics. The George Webb Medley Fund is the principal prize fund for Economics, Politics and Philosophy in Oxford.
Having completed his MPhil in Economics with Distinction, which included a thesis titled “Revolving Doors of Justice: Criminogenic Effects of Repeat Incarceration and Judicial Discretion”, Martin now works as a Research Economist at the Institute for Fiscal Studies.
Martin said, “I’m immensely grateful for having studied among such inspiring minds at Univ and Oxford. The MPhil has been a challenging and rewarding experience that’s deepened my curiosity and commitment to using economic research for good. More than anything, receiving this prize feels like a reflection of the encouragement and generosity of the people around me.”
