Dig in at Stavs

On Friday 11 and Saturday 12 February we would like to invite students and staff to join us at the Staverton Road orchard to help with our next stage of planting.

The problematic Leylandii have been removed and far greater biodiversity on the site will be achieved through the new planting of hawthorn, blackthorn, crab apple, elder, holly, spindle, dog rose and hazel. Nine traditional orchard trees – both pear and apple – from The Heritage Fruit Tree Company will also be added to the site.

Come along to help (or just to support if you don’t want to get your hands dirty) on Friday from 1pm or Sunday 10am until 1pm. We will be offering tea, coffee and snacks on the Saturday morning as added incentive.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Have your say on sustainability
