Dr Andrew Bell

We are delighted to share the third episode of the Univ Spotlight Series, a series which both explores the work of current and former members University College and also celebrates the world-leading teaching and research undertaken here.

In this episode we meet with Dr Andrew Bell (1993, History) who, as the College’s Senior Tutor, has overall responsibility for academic matters at Univ. Andrew talks about teaching, learning and research at the College, and reflects on the experiences and ambitions of students and their tutors in contemporary Oxford. He also discusses ways in which both students’ ambitions and expectations and have changed in recent times, as have the realities of academic careers.

Andrew also offers advice for prospective applicants and those who support them. He discusses subject choice, the application process, and how to make a convincing application to Oxford.
