Univ has been awarded up to £230,000 from the Wolfson Foundation. This generous support will go towards the cost of study facilities within the new Univ North development, a state-of-the-art, sustainable, intergenerational education and living space in North Oxford.

The Wolfson Foundation, an independent charity with a focus on research and education, supports civil society by investing in excellent projects in science, health, heritage, humanities and the arts.
The Univ North site is located about a mile from Univ’s medieval properties on High Street, Oxford. The development will expand Univ’s accommodation and offering with up to 150 new en-suite study bedrooms, study, meeting and lecture spaces.

Valerie Amos, Master of Univ, said: “We are very grateful to the Wolfson Foundation for this award, which will support us in our ambition to provide high-quality, modern facilities for our students, staff and Fellows in a sustainable and beautifully landscaped purpose-built environment.”

The award goes towards the provision of collaborative study spaces within the development.  Univ North will also comprise a nursery with outdoor space for up to 54 children, a café, and a gym. Our enhanced collegiate community in North Oxford will benefit from the development with its landscaped gardens, rejuvenated heritage orchards and an environment focused on wellbeing, sustainability and shared purpose.
