Sameer Rashid Bhat teaches Administrative Law and Contract Law to undergraduate students at Univ.
Sameer has taught law in a range of settings. At Hertford College, Oxford, he has taught Public International Law and Conflict, Security and Human Rights. He has also taught at the London School of Economics, the Oxford Department for Continuing Education, Exeter College, Oxford, and universities in India, including NALSAR University of Law.
Research
Sameer is a DPhil (PhD) candidate at Oxford. His doctoral research, supervised by Professor Dapo Akande, examines the interaction of legal regimes in armed conflict, with particular attention to “mixed armed conflicts” — situations that exhibit characteristics of both international and non-international armed conflicts at the same time.
His wider research interests include public international law, international humanitarian law, international human rights law, constitutional law, comparative public law, counterinsurgency and Kashmir studies. He is currently working on a research project on the constitutional history and status of Jammu and Kashmir, including its relationship with the Indian Constitution.
Sameer has also worked on research and policy projects concerning transitional justice, international peace and security, comparative and international law, cultural expertise and access to justice.
