Univ North Trinity Term 2025 update

Univ North Trinity Term 2025 Update - Brickwork

Water Court West (detail)

It has been an incredibly busy and productive few months at Univ North, and the College is delighted to announce that the first three completed buildings have now been handed over to the College. With key areas of scaffolding across the site now removed, the development’s striking brick facades are now revealed and are looking splendid.

The Nursery, which was the first building at Univ North to reach completion, is having the legal paperwork prepared to allow it to join the University of Oxford’s existing portfolio of five early years nurseries managed by Kids Planet. The keys for both Water Court East and Water Court West have also been handed over to the College. The two Water Court buildings will house many of Univ’s second year students from the start of Michaelmas Term in October, and teams from the Domestic Bursary are already busy preparing these buildings for their first student residents.

Water Courts – Katsura Tree planter and brick bench construction

Externally, the planting continues in earnest with the Water Rill vegetation installed to help complete the area between Water Court East and Water Court West. Over the long vacation, Univ’s gardening team will be busy adding a variety of greenery, chosen to support a welcoming, tranquil and biodiverse environment for students and visitors.

On 2 June, the College hosted an online update on Univ North to bring Old Members and friends up to date on the project, a recording of which can be viewed below. The slides from the contractor, SDC’s presentation during the online update can be found here.
