Univ Spotlight Series Episode OneWe’re excited to share the first episode of the new Univ Spotlight Series, launched this Trinity Term to celebrate academic excellence at University College, Oxford.

In this opening episode, Dr Natalya Benkhaled-Vince, Sanderson Tutorial Fellow in Modern History, explores themes of decolonisation, colonialism, and resistance, offering a thought-provoking and fresh perspective on what it means to be a historian today. She also reveals how some Algerians strategically sought support from the United Nations, in a little-known story of political resistance and global diplomacy.

The Univ Spotlight Series is a termly video project that highlights different subject areas through short-form interviews and features. Each episode shines a light on the achievements of Univ’s Fellows, academics, and Old Members, showcasing their influence across research, policy, and society.
