The 38th HLA Hart Memorial Lecture took place on 16 May, in the College Chapel. The lecture this year was given by Professor Anita Allen from the University of Pennsylvania. Professor Allen gave a thought-provoking and original HLA Hart Memorial lecture titled “Unconditional Love, Some Implications for the Law.” Read more…
As part of the 775 Celebrations, The British Ambassador, Dame Karen Pierce DCMG and The Master, The Rt Hon Baroness Amos LG CH PC, invited Old Members, friends of the College, students, parents and carers of students and their guests to a Gala Dinner at The British Ambassador’s Residence in Washington D.C. on Saturday, 20 April 2024. On Tuesday 16 April 2024, as part of our 775 Celebrations, Baroness Amos, Master of Univ, invited Old Members, friends of the College, students, parents and carers of students and their guests to an “in conversation” event with Emma Tucker (1986, PPE), Editor-in-Chief of the Wall Street Journal. The event took place at the University of Oxford North America Office on Fifth Avenue in New York. Read more…
The subject of the Colin Ford Lecture 2024 is “Letters from the Life of Julia Margaret Cameron”, to be held at the Weston Library on 13 May, 6-7.15pm. Held on the occasion of his 90th birthday, this event celebrates Univ alumnus Colin Ford CBE’s (1952, English) contribution to the field of photo history, and in particular his forensic research into the life and work of the renowned Victorian photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, whose Catalogue Raisonne (the first ever for a photographer) he co-wrote.
