In memoriam: Alexander Temple McCune

Alexander Temple McCuneCollege deeply regrets to report the death of Alexander Temple McCune, who was a member of the WCR. He died on the evening of 13 August 2021 in Katharine House Hospice, Oxfordshire, at the age of 26.

Alex studied psychology as an undergraduate at the University of York, and then as a Master’s student at Linacre College, Oxford. He came to Univ in 2017 when he began research for his DPhil in the Department of Psychology. He was a valued and much-loved member of our College and we will miss him a great deal.

Our thoughts are with Alex’s family and friends and with all who mourn for him. His funeral will take place at South Oxfordshire Crematorium and Memorial Park (OX13 5PA) on Friday 3 September at 3pm, followed from 5pm in College by a celebration of Alex’s life.

All who knew Alex are welcome to attend the funeral and the reception afterwards, and we will fly the College flag at half-mast on that date.

The Department of Experimental Psychology has set up a virtual memorial board in memory of Alex, where it is possible to upload memories and tributes.
