Situated in the heart of Oxford, University College is ideally located for conference hire and meetings, as well as corporate and private events; we are easily accessible by rail, bus and coach, with direct links to both Birmingham and London’s international airports (please see our Directions page). Located in the High Street, we’re next door to the Examination Schools, and close to most University departments and hospitals. We warmly welcome non-residential meetings and events during term time, and residential conferences outside of the academic term.
Our non-residential meeting facilities are perfectly suited to groups of between 12 and 30 people and our iconic Boathouse Clubroom, a unique venue with spectacular Thames views, is also able to book from May to October.
Univ has 200 standard study bedrooms available for residential conferences; whilst at College guests can enjoy the use of our 17th century Hall, the bar, fully-equipped meeting rooms – the largest of which accommodates up to 90 people – and are free to explore much of our grounds and beautiful gardens.

The Swire Seminar Room is a versatile meeting space with multiple layout options; a bright, comfortable and fully accessible venue. It has built-in equipment including computer, DVD, video and CD players, sound system, ceiling-mounted projector, wall-mounted screen, induction loop system and wireless microphones. There’s a foyer area perfect for welcome drinks receptions or refreshments.
This first floor, fully accessible lecture room is flanked by a library and garden making it a quiet meeting space. It seats up to 70 people in a theatre style layout and has built in equipment: computer, DVD and CD players, sounds system with recording facilities, ceiling-mounted projector and screen, and wireless microphones. On the ground floor there is a pleasant lobby that is used as both a greeting space, and a refreshments and drinks reception area.
With its high ceilings and an abundance of natural light this is the perfect boardroom space. Fully equipped with Computer, DVD, video and CD players, sound system, ceiling-mounted projector, wall-mounted screen, and iPad presentation capability.
Idyllically located on the banks of the river Thames the Boathouse Clubroom is the ideal place for both meetings and celebrations – the perfect example of an Oxford College “hidden gem”. It holds up to 60 people for drinks parties and includes access to the balcony.
90 High Street lecture room, our largest meeting room, is spacious and enjoys an abundance of natural light and an undisturbed location. Located on the first floor (note: no lift access) it overlooks the Fellow’s Garden and Library. It holds a maximum of 60 people seated theatre style and 60 classroom style. It has built-in equipment: including computer, DVD, video and CD players, sound system, ceiling-mounted projector, wall-mounted screen; induction loop system and wireless microphones.
Sykes Rooms I and II can be used together as a meeting space and breakout/catering area. Sykes I has a relaxed feel to it whilst Sykes II is perfectly suited for boardroom meetings. Both have built-in equipment and seat a maximum of 14 people.
