Calderwood-Courtyard-Harvard-Art-MuseumsUniv 775 at Harvard Art Museums: Art as a Teaching Tool Across Disciplines
Friday 11 October 2024, 3-5pm at the museums, followed by drinks at a local bar at 5pm (museum admission is free, however participants will be asked to cover their own drinks)
Harvard Art Museums, 32 Quincy Street, Cambridge MA 02138

Host: Dr Jen Thum (2010, MPhil Oriental Studies), Associate Director of Academic Engagement & Campus Partnerships and Research Curator at the Harvard Art Museums, and board member of the American Friends of University College Oxford (AFUCO).

Univ Old Members based in the USA are invited to join Dr Jen Thum, who oversees university-level teaching at the Harvard Art Museums, for an interactive look at works from across the collections that have been used to teach students in subjects ranging from medicine to environmental studies. Put yourself in the shoes of students via gallery conversations, object handling, and other activities. Participants will be asked to let us know which subject they read while at Univ, to enrich our museum experience!

Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Booking details will be circulated to Old Members based in the USA via email. If you have any queries, please contact development@univ.ox.ac.uk.

Please note that audio, photographs and video footage may be taken throughout our events. These may be used by the College for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website and in social media or in any third party publication. Please contact the event organiser if you have any concerns or if you wish to be exempted from this activity.

The vast majority of Old Members who come back to College and Univ events held at other venues are a great pleasure to welcome back. However, sadly, a small minority of alumni do not always behave in a manner that is respectful or appropriate to our staff. For that small minority, we would like to draw their attention to Univ’s Alumni Conduct Policy
