1970 and 1971 Golden Anniversary

1970 Golden Anniversary ReunionSaturday, 26 and Sunday, 27 March 2022
University College, Oxford

Univ tradition dictates that fifty years after matriculation, we are invited back for a celebratory reunion weekend. The pandemic caused the postponement of the 1970 and 1971 golden anniversaries planned for 2020 and 2021. Now, on a positive note, the representatives of both cohorts have agreed to combine for a joint Golden Reunion.

Many of us have socialised little over the past 18 months and we do hope you will join us to make this a truly memorable event with a high turnout. Spouses and partners will be most welcome. Please save the dates of 26 and 27 March 2022 weekend in your diary.

We have planned an exciting weekend! Saturday will have a cornucopia of activities to choose from. It will culminate in Evensong, followed by dinner in Hall, and drinks. On Sunday, specially curated tours of College, Univ North, the Ashmolean and the Botanical Gardens (tbc) are planned. This programme is free of charge.

A limited number of rooms in College, including a few doubles, are reasonably priced and available to attendees on a first come, first served basis. Other rooms may be available at other Oxford colleges and the Development Office can advise on this.

A provisional schedule can be viewed below. Further information and booking details will be made available closer to the event. In the meantime, we hope you are looking forward to returning to Oxford and reuniting with old friends.

Many of us have happy memories of a very friendly and civilised College which was the envy of others. That genial character remains true today. We greatly look forward to meeting with old friends again, some of whom will have travelled thousands of miles to be there, to dine in Hall, mingle over drinks and savour Oxford’s many attractions. Those with spouses or partners may be showing them the College for the first time.

We expect the weekend to be pleasant, relaxed, and enjoyable. A committee member will be in touch with you over the coming months to encourage you to attend and to contact your own friends in the same vein.
