Pye Fellow
Praelector in Pure Mathematics
Research Interests
Senior mathematics fellow. His research interests lie in algebra, especially group theory and representation theory, and he is the author of the textbook Representations and characters of finite groups. One of his recent achievements in research is to have found the best-possible bound in a result that was first proved (with extravagant bounds) over a century ago.
