Application Timetable
The time-table for making an application to University College is outlined below. Please beware that the exact timings may vary slightly from year to year so you should always consult the University’s admissions website for the most up-to-date information.
| 15 October | All applications must be made through UCAS by 15 October. |
| 2 November | Written tests are taken in schools / approved test centres by candidates for subjects listed here (except candidates for Law who must take the LNAT between 1 September and 20 October). |
| Early November | You will receive an acknowledgement of your application from us and a request for samples of written school work (if applicable). |
| 10 November | Deadline for the submission of written school work (if applicable). |
| Late November | You will be informed whether or not you are required to attend for interview. |
| Early December | Interviews are held in Oxford. Interviews for Arts subjects generally take place in the first week of December, and interviews for Science subjects in the second week of December. |
| Late December | You will be notified of the outcome of your application. If we make you an offer, this may be unconditional (if you have already taken your exams) or conditional on your achieving certain exam results. |
| Mid-August | A Level results are released and conditional offers are confirmed. |
| Last week of September | Univ’s free Maths course for all students in Maths, Computer Science, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Engineering Science, Physics, Medicine, Biomedical Sciences. |
| October | Welcome Week. |
The academic year is made up of three terms, each lasting eight weeks: Michaelmas (autumn), Hilary (spring), and Trinity (summer). With the exception of your first term as a Fresher, Full Term starts on Monday, but students must be in residence on the previous Thursday to sit Collections (College exams).
