Graduate Accommodation
Space permitting, first-year graduate students are typically housed on the main College site, in the heart of the historic city: many of the rooms are in houses in Merton Street, without doubt the most beautiful street in Oxford.
Our graduate houses have comfortable bed-sitting rooms with phone points, internet connection, basins, shared kitchens and bathrooms, and several have courtyard gardens. Meals can either be taken in the College Hall or be cooked and eaten in the houses.
After the first year, graduate students are offered accommodation in fashionable North Oxford, in our leafy complex off Staverton Road (colloquially referred to as ‘Stavertonia’ or ‘Stavs’), which includes 25 flats for couples or small families. There is easy access to good shops, cafés, and pubs in Summertown, and lovely walks in Port Meadow. The science area, hospitals, and main College site can be easily reached by bike, bus, or on foot.
Unlike undergraduates, graduate students can occupy their rooms throughout the year (but if they choose to vacate them, they pay no rent).
